Classical and contemporary dancer, teacher, choreographer and Bachelor of Dance Art from the Higher Institute of Art of Cuba, where she also taught Dance History classes. She began her classical ballet studies in her hometown of Camagüey, moving along the Elementary Level and Upper Middle Level to graduate as a professional classical dancer in 2008.
She later became part of the Endedans Contemporary Ballet company, under the direction of Tania Vergara, where she achieved several awards with the status of Principal Dancer. Has participated in many national and international events such as the International Dance Festivals in Urban Landscapes and the International Ballet Festivals of Havana. She received workshops and dances for important Cuban and international choreographers such as Pepe Hevia, Maura Morales, Jens Bjerregaard and Pedro Ruíz.
She plays the main role in the Giselle Creole version of the choreographer Jean-Claude Zadith for the 1st International Festival of Mestizo Dances, Martinique 2010. She is also part of the cast that performs at festivals in Mexico, Venezuela and Germany. In 2013 she was invited by the National Ballet of Peru as a Coripheus for the staging of Swan Lake, in a contemporary version by the choreographer Fernando Hurtado.
Since 2014 she resides in the Dominican Republic, where she is the Academic Director of Ballet Clásico Santiago, run by the Cuban ballet master (maître) Norma García. She performed a free version of the classic The Nutcracker with the Dominican National Symphony Orchestra at Christmas 2017. She has also been an adjunct choreographer for the performances: “Cinderella”, “Don Quixote”, “From tap to classic” and “Cubanías”. She participated as a dancer and choreographer in 2019 in the show " The ballet and the costume " parallel to the exhibition tribute to Oscar de la Renta.
Thompson began training at 13 with his mother, Marguerite McNeilly, at her school the Hudson Valley Dance Center of Warwick. He attended the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet for 3 years where he trained under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary. While at CPYB, he had performance opportunities in The Sleeping Beauty, A Mid-Summer’s Night Dream, Coppelia, and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker. Thom danced as a trainee at Boston Ballet where he performed in productions such as The Nutcracker and Ashton’s Cinderella. Upon finishing training with Boston Ballet, he attended Miami City Ballet School under the direction of Arantxa Ochoa. Thom has attended summer programs in the advanced division of The School of American Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet on scholarships. Thom will be joining Cinncinati Ballet as a second company member.
Devin began her training at age 8 at Abella’s School of Dance. She is proficient in ballet, pointe, contemporary, modern, tap, jazz, hip hop, character, and Latin ballroom. She danced for the St.Johns County Center for the Arts for five years. Devin has been a company member with the St. Augustine Ballet since 2011. Featured roles she has performed include Dorothy in Wizard of OZ, Tiger Lily in Peter Pan, Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen and the Arabian Pas De Deux in the Nutcracker. Currently, Devin is double majoring in Dance Performance and Exercise Science at Florida Southern College.
Paul Piner is a nineteen year old Florida native. He has had the opportunity to dance all along the east coast, from Miami to New York City. Paul had competed at YAGP for the past two years, this past year winning first place in the Pas de Deux and Contemporary Semifinals, and third place in the Pas de Deux New York Finals.
